The Beat generation took place way before my period; but during this course we got a glimpse of what it was like, who took part in it, what it was about and many of the stories and events resulting from it. Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs were highly acclaimed Beat authors. They were the vocalisation of their generation and were often praised as well as criticized.
